Smart Skin Management Team
Kumaran Thillainadarajah, CEO
Kumaran developed the initial concept of Smart Skin. He then successfully translated the idea into a strong business opportunity, and has mobilized a strong team to turn this concept into a licensable product. To date, Kumaran has led his team to success in various engineering and business plan competitions, most notably winning the New Brunswick Young Entrepreneur award (under 35 yrs), and has since raised $300,000 for Smart Skin.

Daniel Picard, CA. CFO
Daniel Picard is a Chartered Accountant with experience in the distribution, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications sectors. His role as CFO includes business development, raising capital as well as overseeing the financial health of Smart Skin Technologies. Daniel graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration specializing in accounting, economics and finance. Daniel has successfully completed the Level 1 of the CFA program. Daniel currently lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick with his wife Melanie.
David Manuel
David Manuel is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of international business experience. His 11 years with Intrinsyc Software as a Vice President and General Manager included leadership roles in establishing strategic technology direction, advanced technology research, developing partnerships with major technology vendors, engineering, sales and marketing. Prior to Intrinsyc, Mr. Manuel worked in South America at DAMOS SudAmerica, an affiliate of Telecom Italia, as Director of Engineering and Operations leading the infrastructure build-out of an ORBCOMM (NASDAQ: ORBC) satellite-based, two-way messaging system. Preceding that, he spent nearly a decade at MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates (TSX: MDA) as a Systems Engineer running large systems and software developments for various space agencies and international governmental agencies. Mr. Manuel has a Bachelors of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from McMaster University and is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
Felipe Chibante, Research Director
Dr. Chibante is an expert in the field of nanoscience. He conducted research under the mentorship of the late Dr. Richard Smalley, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry. He has on-going collaborations with NASA, the US Dept. of Defence, and national laboratories in the US, France and Germany. Dr. Chibante brings with him a wealth of business development experience; he founded two companies in Houston, BuckyUSA and NanoTex Corp., to promote nanocarbon manufacturing, application research and commercialization. He has significant experience and expertise in this ground-breaking research, and his contributions to Smart Skin Technologies as Research Director will make Smart Skin a market leader in compliant thin film sensors.
Arpad Kormendy, Engineer
Having completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, at the University ofNew Brunswick, Arpad Kormendy is currently enrolled in the UNB Chemical Engineering Graduate Studies program supervised by Dr. Felipe Chibante. During his undergrad, he specialized in Mechatronics, the integration of mechanical, electrical and software components to bring insight into the manufacturing and optimizing of Smart Skin's as a new sensor technology.
